How to Connect AV Jacks From Your TV to Cable

Most tv sets include a few various kinds of audio-video (AV) jacks for starting up components, including a cable television box. For older, tube-type TVs, your choices are most likely coaxial or composite cables. Coaxial screws onto the jack with a rotating coupler. Composite cables are tipped on each end with red, yellow and white plugs for color-coded connections. Use HDMI (High-Definition Media Interface) cables for flat-screen HDTV and digital contacts. Simply match the available jacks in your TELEVISION with a compatible jack in your cable box.

Switch off it and the cable box. Connect one end of the AV cable to the corresponding input jack on the rear or edge of one's TELEVISION. Twist a coaxial cable connector round the threaded coaxial jack. Insert the three plugs on a composite cable to the matching color jacks on the set, or fall into line the plug on an HDMI cable with the form of the jack on it. Plug in another end of the cable to the matching jack on the rear of one's cable box. Switch on the gear and press the TV's video input button before cable television signal appears in your screen.
